The full Moon Polar Bear Swim…

The Bluetits Full moon charity swim is approaching. We are organising this in aid of Paul Sartori who provide hospice care in your home and a counselling service. If you live in Pembrokeshire it is likely you will be or know someone who has been supported by them. They are a loved and well respected charity. I know this as I live in Pembrokeshire and have used the services Paul Sartori provide …. but still I didn’t anticipate the support we would get from Pembrokeshire businesses when we put the call out for raffle prizes and swimmers when we advertised it would be a darktime skin swim. We also had the good fortune to welcome local illustrator Jackie Morris Into the Bluetits this year, and she offered us the use of her swimming polar bear for the badge image…. so The Full Moon Polar Bear Swim was born.

It’s been three weeks of creating, ordering, discussing, risk assessing, schmoozin’, selling, collecting, googling and thanking . Now comes the site preparation and decoration….

Filming with Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi

The very thought of arranging 250 children in to the letters YPD CIN on a windy football pitch was enough to make me itch but Jemeima, Wil and Ben along with a few very good humoured teachers made the task look easy. Request to be featured on the Children In Need social media pages now sent and fingers crossed they feature them. Tomorrow a few Bluetits are off to model swimwear and woolly beanie hats before settling down to watch themselves on ITV Wales- St Davids,Britain’s Smallest City.

Wintering In St Davids…

Whilst watching the current series on ITV, St Davids Britains Smallest City , we can’t help thinking that the weather we are having now is some sort of payback for the weather we had in the summer months this year. Its pretty wet and soggy underfoot at Pencarnan and the stream has been flowing down the steps to the beach for ver a week now. Ben has been doing his best to keep the track in order but its a loosing battle as all his work is undone once the next downpour arrives. But as we have all grown up here we are pretty good at finding indoor jobs to complete on the days its a bit rough to work outside and also entertaining ourselves outdoors when conditions allow. When the kids complain there is no surf I know the sea swimming conditions are going to be great for me and likewise when its great for them I disappear inland and find some weedy puddle to wallow in. Its Children In Need week this week so we , Richardson Media, are off to do some drone shots of the local school children today, that’s if we can get a few hours of dry in between the crazy downpours.
